I got this little Macally speaker for my mp3 player collection. (I have a beloved little iriver T30, a very nice Sansa 250, and an aging but still useable Rio; no iPod, thank you very much, but I'm sure it would work the same.) It works great for what it is: a very tiny, ultra-portable personal speaker that draws very little juice from its single AA battery, and therefore puts out very little volume. I use it when I'm working in the kitchen, away from my cd player and there is nothing good on the radio.

Good points:
1) Allows you to listen to mp3s (or cds, for that matter) without earphones.
2) Super-portable, lightweight, fits in any pocket.
3) One battery seems to last a long, long time. (I use a rechargeable NiMH, so the battery is essentially free for me.)

Not-so-good points:
1) No volume control.
2) Not much volume at all, come to think of it. I have to crank up my iriver to 27 or higher to hear it at a low-to-moderate level (I usually play my iriver at 12 to 17 on my earbuds, so you basically have to double the volume on your player to get the same level of sound).
3) You have to remember to TURN IT OFF when you turn off the mp3 player. There's no little light or anything to remind you that the thing is on.
4) It has a somewhat tinny sound. This is NOT a product for audiophiles!! (I am the opposite of an audiophile, whatever that is; staticky fm is fine with me.)
5) It produces a very slight but constant and remotely annoying high-pitched whine, which fortunately is drowned out by even the softest music. Actually, this whistle is what reminds me to turn it off when I forget, so maybe I shouldn't complain!

It worked fine, but everytime the 'pod spun up I would hear its electronic whirl on the station as it prepped the music. I used it during my trip, but quickly returned it once I received my iFreq. I was not disappointed -- the iFreq never picked up the startup whirl and the sound comes through strong. I really stand by Sonnect transmitters and the PodFreq and iFreq are very strong products in this field. For the 5G iPod I strongly recommend the Sonnet iFreq!

I bought this at the Apple store so I could listen to music on my iPod mini in my car. I also purchased it because it will charge my iPod in the car, which meant one less accessory to buy. I have found this product works pretty well and the holder it clicks into keeps the iPod from rolling all over the car. I also like the gooseneck feature because I can read the songs on my iPod while I am driving.

I have found it to be a pain in the neck trying to find empty stations in different areas while driving. It seems redundant to have to change radio stations and the station setting on the TuneBase set. It has four buttons to save empty station settings on. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and comes with extra bands for older model cars that had wider holes to help it fit.

The sound quality is not, obviously, near as nice as a CD. Sometimes music sounds a bit tinny and hollow. But, for the price and the convenience, to me its a small price to pay. It still beats carrying around a large book of CD's with me everywhere I go. This product charges your iPod while its clicked into the slot. It seems to charge faster than when connected to my laptop. I find this a nice asset. So, overall, I find it to be a pretty good product that has worked as advertised.

Ok, This thing worked well for five days exactly. In the middle of playing a song, it up and died. The green light on the piece that connects to the cigarette lighter was on, so it was getting power. The interface piece where you click your iPod into would not work. I returned it to the Apple store and bought an AirPlay FM transmitter (which is wireless) by XTremeMac. This thing was much cheaper and works much better. I Do not recommend the Belkin TuneBase.

TuneBase FM for iPods

This is an excellent FM tuner solution. Unlike other FM tuners I have used, the frequencies you can use are not preset and can be reset on the fly. In addition, the Tunebase charges your battery while the iPod is in use.

There are drawbacks to keep in mind: like all FM tuners, you will hear static if you are getting signal interference. This is going to be an issue if you tend to drive in areas with heavy airwaves. This was a problem I had with previous solutions but is less of an issue since the frequencies are not hardcoded into the device and can be reset manually. It can be a little work to find a clean frequency, but that's just the nature of FM tuners.

I had originally considered finding some direct input solution for my iPod but found that it would be impractical for my car as far as the investment of dollars and work went. Seeing as how my car is about three years old, most solutions involve either replacing the stereo or actually going in and messing with the wiring in my car. I got the Tunebase as an interim solution but I am so satisfied with it I think I'm just going to use it for as long as I have this car.

A few months ago I needed to replace my broken shuffle dock. After trying the IncipioBud (which I didn't care for) I tried the PowerBug. So far, I adore it and have absolutely no complaints. However, considering the poor product description, it was more a lucky break than an informed decision.

As shown in the picture above, the PowerBug comes in two pieces: the little white charger unit (the "bug") and a usb cable that connects from the "bug" to the shuffle. This means your shuffle can be plugged into the wall and charged anywhere, anytime; it also means the usb cable can be removed from the "bug" and plugged into the computer, allowing your shuffle to be charged and synced in the standard manner.

So, no -- this isn't a stand-your-shuffle-up-on-it dock, but it will do the same job, as well as allowing it to be charged in a standard wall plug. Better yet -- at least for me -- the "bug" also seems to be compatible with the usb cable for my older video ipod, allowing me a lot of charging options both at home and while traveling.

Be warned - there's no guarantee they won't change the design or that plugging your own non-shuffle usb device into the "bug" won't cause it to blow up. However, until they provide an decent official product description, I can only hope this will be helpful.

I purchased this case along with a Nike+ sensor hoping that it would fit since the case that Nike is selling got poor reviews. The case does fit, although you really have to stretch the neoprene over the bottom of the sensor to get the velcro to catch and hold. I was kinda curious as to what this would do for my ipod shuffle and ended up finding out that this thing is just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the bose sounddock which unfortunately does not have an auxilary input, and i took a look at this and figured, heck, $13 (what i paid for it), it's worth a shot. I knew the shuffle has a proprietary jack, but the jack is only different on the third rung, and with the audio switch on, the third rung is disabled anywayz, which turns it into ur standard headphone jack. Be careful to NOT switch it to charging switch, who knows what it'll do. Anywayz, i took the extension cord that came with my bose quietcomfort 2 headphones, which were thankfully thin enough, and plugged it in. Electronics are idiots, all the sounddock knows is that there's an audio signal coming through and it plays it without complaining. This solution works great and is alot cheaper than any other method that i've seen.

First tip, there is a a moment of latency after plugging it into the cigarette lighter or plugging an iPod into it. For a few seconds but often less than five seconds, there may be static as the device is acquiring the iPod or before it begins transmitting on the FM signal.

Also, and this has to be said because it obvious some people are unaware of radio frequency warbling after reading some of the reviews, FM frequencies bleed over incrementally, in other words if you have a strong radio station broadcasting on 102.3, you're also gonna hear a weaker version of their signal on 102.1 and 102.5, this phenomena is called "warbling". It is almost funny watching the newer generation (that has never used FM radio) being introduced to the idiosyncrasies because they're trying to plug in their digital iPod into their analog car audio.

If your car FM tuner has a traditional tuner, meaning a button or analog dial that lets you rake across the entire RF range then you need to use it to find a truly unused frequency between two radio stations then tune your Belkin to it. Just using the "seek" function on your car stereo is always going to land you on a strong channel and trying to pick an empty freq off of it will perpetually frustrate you.

Some reviewers complained the device doesn't work as well in certain areas, or around mountains. That is irrational since this device is a mini radio station broadcasting to your car antenna, the reason it stops working around some mountains is because the mountains are affecting a broadcast radio station in your area and it is stronger in the spot you're having problems.

Again, the solution is to find empty airwaves for your FM tuner and this effect won't matter.

Here is a factoid that applies to most areas in the USA, National Public Radio (NPR) is often in the 89 - 91 MHz frequency range, and NPR being publicly funded doesn't have the strongest wattage so you can find an open frequency 2-3 frequencies off NPR and get clean sound with your FM mini transmitter.

The cables and items in the kit cost altogether far more than the kit, so the kit is an okay deal. All the cables feel solid and high quality, the dock is reasonably nice, and the remote control works, even though it is limited in functionality.

One of the power cables fizzled out only a couple weeks after I got the kit, which might have been upsetting except that CablesToGo was very friendly on email, stood by their warranty and shipped me a new cable very fast. They didn't even ask me to return the broken cable.

For me, the most useful parts of the kit have been the cables to connect my iPod Video to my television. There are two different cables for that, and they have really opened up the usefulness of the iPod, turning it into a portable video server, instead of just a portable video viewer.

In theory this is a cool device with a neat feature set and sound, however there is a terrible oversight in the alarm-it is way too loud and cannot be adjusted to be lower!

If you like waking up to soft music or talk radio, this device is absolutely not for you. The softest volume setting allowed is way too loud.

I was also not at all impressed with the AM/FM reception.

On the plus side, when connected to my iPod, the unit seems to work and sound pretty well and the remote control is handy. But I can't use this for the intended purpose, as a clock radio to wake me up in the mornings.

While looking for an iPod case for my 2nd Generation iPod Nano, I found an incredibly wide tableau of products. Cases ranged from very expensive genuine leather fold-cases to cheap but of poor quality plastic cases.

I was looking for a decent case, good enough to protect my iPod from scratching and scraping. This case and armband is perfect for just this purpose. The case snugly fits my iPod, and it has velcro on the back, so it may be attached to the armband (perfect for jogging and other activities) as well as the belt strap.

The only improvement to be made would be the velcro. Although I do not know how this velcro will hold up after a lot of use, often velcro tares and it's quality decreases after much use. I'll just have to see how this one holds up.

I didn't have much hope of finding an iPod speaker system that delivered decent sound within my price range, and had decided to just save up for a Bose. Then I read some good reviews for the iVoice. It has an amazing sound, especially considering it can be had for $100 - crisp, clear, not muddy, not tinny, good bass, volume goes really high. I am using it in a very large room and it sounds great.

In the picture here it looks tippy, but it actually has a broad piece in the back that stabilizes it perfectly. It's also very sleek-looking.

The only con (possibly) is that the remote is smaller than a credit card (though thicker) so it might get lost easily. But I'm delighted with the iVoice's sound and features - it's a fantastic value.

I have had my fun with cases, and until I found this one..there was nothing that met what I wanted... My last iPod was the 30G video and I tried several different cases, some neoprene and a hard case.

So, out comes the 80G iPod and I made a lame excuse to sell my 30G so I could buy the 80G (my 30G was white and I wanted a black iPod.....the excuse worked for me, so thats what matters) At any rate, I purchased this iSkin a couple weeks ago and received it a couple days ago (took so long because I am military stationed in Korea..shipping takes a while)

This case is fanfriggintastic........ I had no problem putting the case on and the flimsy clip (which I don't know why they included it) is easy to remove and once the backplate is out, there are no remnants of it. The case is very well thought out and the only part of the case that comes into contact with the iPod is the neoprene, the screen protector doesn't touch it so you won't grind any dirt into it or anything. Also, the screen protector is very durable and doesn't affect viewing at all.

I see a lot of people are griping about the hold button being covered and that it is hard to use, but I've found that I don't really need to use the hold button due to the click wheel being more recessed (screen protector has opening for the wheel) so you are a lot less likely to hit it on accident.

As far as the control through the neoprene cover......fanfriggintastic again.......no loss in sensitivity at all and the recessedness (I make up words) actually keeps my finger on the wheel during some crazy spinning to get to my next song....

Belkin F8Z075-BLK TuneFM for iPod

Okay! I know it sounds too good to be true, or maybe it sounds like a sales pitch, but it isn't. I'm just a "Schmoe" like most everyone else and I wanted to pass along information on a product that really delivered the goods!

I did ALL the research and tried a bunch of FM transmitters - some turned out to be good, some turned out to be garbage, BUT this one finished at the top of the heap in my analysis.

Here's the top 5:

1.) Cost- the transmitter is fairly priced. It didn't break the bank like some of the other transmitters out there. (I'm sorry, but spending more than $50 on an FM Transmitter is ridiculous!)

2.) Performance- Forget about looking for a weak station to broadcast over. I live in the greater New York City area, and to prove my point, I found the strongest fm station I could find on the dial and this transmitter entirely trounced right over it! Sure an "unused" fm station provided near cd quality playback and is the obvious choice, but I wanted to prove a point, and that was, no matter what the signal strength, this transmitter flat-lined the original and dominated the frequency! Nice job Belkin, mission accomplished!

3.) Ease of use- All FM transmitter functions fully displayed on the iPod Video's screen, 4 easy to program frequency presets, all with their own handy button, and initial setup that took under a minute!...YES, under one-minute!

4.) Small and versatile- Matches up perfectly with my 30G iPod Video and only adds about 1/2-inch to the overall length of the entire device. MOST IMPORTANTLY- I do NOT have to remove my iPod from its protective case in order to use this transmitter! In fact, I believe this transmitter was designed for use specifically with a case in mind! There is a short collar you remove from the transmitter if your iPod is in a case. You only use the collar if your iPod is "in the buff" so to speak! Believe me, the fit is perfect! It is exactly how we would have designed it, if it was up to us!

5.) Dual power sources and auto charger- You can either power the transmitter off your iPod's internal battery or via the included car power adapter. Playing off your iPod's battery allows you to use the transmitter in a variety of places including your home stereo, a boom-box at the beach, wherever you might bring your iPod. Playing off the car adapter also charges your iPod.

The ONLY negative thing I can say about the device is a rather selfish one. I think with a little more thoughtfulness, Belkin could have devised a single power adapter that would offer BOTH an AC and DC power solution for this absolutely fantastic product!

When to buy this product:

Buy this product if you just want some decent audible sound. It cost less that $50.00 so you can't go wrong. Basically it turns your iPod into a middle of the road sounding Boom box. It's good to put in places like the Kitchen, the bedroom, or even in the office cubicle. The remote is nice to have also. (You don't have full functionality with this remote. Just: volume, pause, and skip, no back and forward through menus.)
All and all I feel like it's a great accompaniment to my Nano.

When NOT to buy this product:

Don't buy this product in the hopes of turning your iPod into your home sound system. This product has very little bass to speak of. Don't buy this product for use with the First Gen. iPod Shuffle. Regardless of what the package says, IT DOES NOT WORK WITH THE FIRST GENERATION IPOD SHUFFLE. This product produces sound that is nice for background effect i.e. I sometimes put it in the bathroom while showering. It is not suitable to be the main feature in your home sound system.

So if you read this and taken it all into consideration, go right ahead and confidently purchase this product. I think you'll like it.

This case is a basic case that will show off your nano's color. I found my 2nd gen nano to fit snuggly in the case. The click wheel is covered but still responds nicely. The areas of the dock connector, earphone jack, and hold button are exposed (which I think is a positive since you don't have to take your nano out of the case to use the dock connector). I have not found the earphone jack to come loose. Most earphone plugs should plug in as the hole for the earplug is large enough for most earphones. The only negative is the clip. To use it, you have to use a small plastic tab with a loop that has a metal ring on it (which the clip attaches to). If you don't want the clip and want a flush top, you have to take off the clip, take off the metal ring, open the case, remove the plastic tab/ring, replace it with a small plastic tab without a loop (that can be easily lost), and then replace your nano in the case. Other than this small annoyance, Belkin made an excellent case.

Touch Screen Overlay for Ipod

This screen overlay is very transparent and does not seem to hinder the touch-screen at all. The only problem I see is that it is just a little shy of completely covering the screen (on the order of a millimeter too short), and I would have liked for it go all the way to the edges of the Touch, beyond the physical screen, and around the button at the bottom. But, this screen does a great job of protecting the touch-screen portion of the iPod Touch.

Ipod Classic Armand

I strongly recommend this product if you have a ipod classic that you would like to workout with. The quality is excellent and it has held up very well in the past couple months that I've used it. (I workout roughly 4/5 days per week).

Things I really like:
-Very durable
-Sexy design
-Dries Quickly (It gets very sweaty during my workouts)
-Great Price

I only have one complaint. The plastic face on the front does not easily allow manipulation of the scroll wheel to adjust volume or browse the device. This means you must take the ipod out of the case if you would like to quickly find your music or make adjustments. Sometimes this can be a bit fustrating. I call this a minor complaint because I usually set my volume and/or playlist prior to beginning a workout so this is not too much of an inconvenience.

Also, if the armband provided a way to access the port on the bottom of the device then I probably would never take it out. That would make this product an absolute best buy. (I don't think that is the intent of this product so I will not list that as a complaint)
